The Workshop by Lacey Dippold Photography

What’s better than teeny tiny babies?!?!  I for a long time I hated working with newborns because they felt so difficult to me.  They are fussy little things that seemed only to have a mind for everything other than what I needed them to do.  A few years ago, I decided to dive in and master this area of photography.  While I am FAR from a master, I have improved greatly over the last couple of years through trial and error, marketing mistakes, lighting issues and a heart issue.

This workshop will take place in my studio with a newborn model or two.  I will be showing posing techniques, lighting techniques, safety, client prep, working with assistants and without.  I will also touch on macro photography with newborns.

You will need the following equipment:

  • A DSLR camera that can shoot in manual.  This is extremely important as we will be working with flash photography.  This is not possible unless you can shoot manual.  I can teach this briefly at the workshop as well, but please make sure your camera can do manual.
  • Paper and pen for note taking
  • A peaceful heart.  I can’t stress this one enough.  Those little souls you are working with can feel those vibes and will react accordingly.  Take a deep breath and relax.  I will discuss what I do while we are in the workshop.

I will obviously have my designer boutique company, Sew Trendy, props available for you to check out and use during the workshop.

I will have two models in studio for this and will get a boy and girl so we can try different looks and have something beautiful for your portfolio.  You will get the chance to shoot each set from several different angles.  I will also show you how I move between poses to get the most from each prop and pose.

I will be receiving some new items in studio for this workshop specifically from my sponsors and can’t wait to share them with you!

Now to everyone’s favorite part: cost.

The cost of your workshop will cover a light breakfast, lunch, four hours of class time, which will also include two-three hours of shooting time.   I will rotate the boy and girl model between shooting students to give the best possible flow and quantity of images. The cost will be $150.

I am planning on March 23rd for the date.  It will take place from 9:00 am until 1:00pm.

To reserve your time, you must pay the workshop fee in full.  The workshop fee is non-refundable as I am only taking a few students for this and it will guarantee your space at the workshop.
